How to setup presets ​

Get ready to streamline your production with presets! This powerful feature lets you save and recall camera positions and settings with a single click. Follow this guide to become a preset pro and automate your workflow like never before. Let's get started!

Presets are a powerful tool to automate your production. They allow you to save and recall camera positions and apply component settings (e.g. activate auto tracking). This guide will show you how to use them. For this guide, we assume that you have already set up a project, added a camera and set up the PTZ controller.

Create a new preset ​

  1. Go to the Devices view.
  2. Move the camera that you want to make a preset for to the desired position (either with an external controller or the built-in joystick). Note that you may have to pause the director of the camera!
  3. Click on the Add preset icon button on the bottom right of the device card you want to create a preset for. A dialog window will show up: Preset Modal
  4. You can now add a preset name and other metadata for later use. Select the commands you want to be executed when the preset is recalled. Depending on the installed components, you can select their current settings and enable/disable them.
  5. Click Create preset to save the preset. It will now show up on the Presets page.

Recall, modify and delete presets ​

  1. Go to the Presets page. Presets page
  2. You can filter the presets by cameras and keywords.
  3. Click on the play icon to recall the preset. When the camera reaches the preset position, the image will switch to the current live feed. If you're unhappy with the saved position, click the quick edit button , correct the camera position and hit . The preset will be updated automatically. Active preset
  4. Click on the preset name to change the name.
  5. Open the accordion () to view the preset actions and metadata or to delete the preset.

Adjust presets with the quick-edit joystick ​

Quick-edit mode can display a PTZ joystick over the live image, so you can refine the camera position before saving the preset.

  1. Open the Settings page and make sure Show joystick during quick edit is enabled. This option is enabled by default.
  2. On the Presets page, start quick-edit mode for a preset that has a connected camera device.
  3. Use the PTZ joystick over the live image to adjust the camera framing. Of course, you can also use your own hardware joystick.
  4. Save the preset when the framing is correct.

The joystick is shown only while quick-editing with a connected camera. Disable Show joystick during quick edit in Settings to hide it.

Visualize presets on the video feed ​

You can toggle the preset overlay by clicking the icon in the toolbar in the bottom of the device card or, if in fullscreen view, below the video feed:

The presets will show up as white boxes on the video feed.
