Input components

There are multiple ways to feed data streams into MiruSuite. The components below contain explanations on how to set up each type of input.

INFO

For optimal performance we recommend directly connecting to the camera via a low latency capture card (e.g. SDI, HDMI). However, which connection is fastest depends on the manufacturer of your camera.

For accurate tracking, a clean video feed without text overlays or graphical elements is essential. Please configure your camera accordingly.

TIP

You can also route the multi-view output from your video switcher into MiruSuite and crop it into separate input feeds. This setup is suitable when you don’t require auto tracking. You can reuse the same input multiple times and apply individual crops in the input component settings.

Webcam

When adding a webcam, you can select the correct input from a list. We support capture cards that get recognised by the OS as standard webcams. If you're unsure if your capture card works, try with the standard camera app.

WARNING

Note that the OS sometimes switches the order of the cameras, which can lead to MiruSuite not finding the correct camera, you might need to reselect the camera in the settings.

NDI®

Select the correct NDI® input from the list. NDI® has usually a lower latency than MJPEG, but higher than a direct capture card connection. MiruSuite automatically discovers NDI® sources in the local network.

NDI® is a registered trademark of Vizrt NDI AB.

MJPEG

If the device registers via mDNS, it will be automatically discovered. You can select it from the list. For other devices, you will need to enter the IP address manually. Click Connect manually, select the camera manufacturer, enter the IP address, and press Enter. If your manufacturer is not in the list, select Raw and provide the full URL to the MJPEG stream.

Authentication: If your MJPEG stream requires authentication via Basic or Digest Auth, select the Authentication required checkbox and input your credentials. Note that Sony cameras by default require the same authentication for the MJPEG stream as for the Web UI.

Audio AutoCut

You can connect a microphone or another audio source via a sound card. The audio feed can be used by the Audio Analyzer and the AutoCut algorithm. Audio devices are discovered via multiple supported audio drivers, so on some Windows machines, audio devices may show up more than once. In this case, just pick one.

In the audio component settings, you can select which audio channel to use. Enable the input and click on the headphones icon to listen to the audio feed.
